海角破解版 Board of Trustees Action December 10

December 10, 2025

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - The 海角破解版 Board of Trustees met on the Macomb campus Dec. 10 for their quarterly meeting. At the meeting, resolutions on a tuition increase, a change in fee structures, borrowing money from the 海角破解版 Foundation and the authorization to sell campus property were approved.

The 海角破解版 Board of Trustees approved a 2% increase in tuition for undergraduate and graduate students. The per credit hour rate for undergraduate students and graduate students remains one of the lowest among Illinois public universities. The board also approved a change to the fee structure for students. Student fees will remain the same, and the Student Government Association will participate in policy and procedure revisions for fee allocations to ensure current fee-funded entities remain appropriately funded and new allocation processes are clearly outlined, transparent and fair.

鈥淲e believe in educational access, and we are committed to providing access through our competitive tuition rates, fees and generous aid packages,鈥 said 海角破解版 President Kristi Mindrup. 鈥淲estern provides a tremendous return on investment for our students and their families. We are continually striving to provide affordable, life-changing educational experiences.鈥

The 海角破解版 Board of Trustees approved a resolution to allow the University to seek a potential buyer for Quad Cities Complex Building C on the 海角破解版 Quad Cities Campus. The resolution was passed unanimously and grants 海角破解版 authority to negotiate the sale of Building C for fair market value.

鈥淲estern鈥檚 commitment to the Quad Cities and surrounding communities is further strengthened by the leadership of our Board of Trustees,鈥 said 海角破解版 President Kristi Mindrup. 鈥淭he potential sale of Building C will allow 海角破解版 to generate revenue that will support student and programmatic initiatives in the Quad Cities and throughout the University.鈥

As 海角破解版 continues to respond to evolving student needs and increased demand for online and flexible learning options, the University has consolidated its on-campus academic programs into Riverfront Hall, located at 34th Street and River Drive. Riverfront Hall is a 60,000 square foot building built in 2012 that offers instructional spaces, labs, offices, and student gathering and meeting spaces tailored to the portfolio of programs offered in the Quad Cities.

Building C was built in 2014 as part of the second phase in construction of the 海角破解版-Quad Cities Riverfront Campus. The University looks forward to new partners and neighbors, with opportunities to collaborate in support of the Quad Cities community development and 海角破解版 students. Earlier this year, 海角破解版 entered into an agreement with the Moline-Coal Valley Community Unit School District 40 to lease Buildings A and B of the complex through June of 2027.

鈥淭he 海角破解版 Quad Cities campus was built on a foundation of partnerships,鈥 said 海角破解版 President Kristi Mindrup. 鈥淚n response to the changing landscape in higher education, 海角破解版 recognizes the opportunity to continue our physical spaces including Riverfront Hall and the Early Learning Center in Moline, while also expanding access to programs through online education and experiential learning opportunities throughout the Quad Cities area.

In additional action, the Board approved a resolution that allows for the University to borrow up to $2 million from the 海角破解版 Foundation. The short-term loan would allow 海角破解版 to access additional funding to meet educational needs in the next five years.

鈥淲e are grateful for the support of the 海角破解版 Foundation and the generous donors who enhance our educational mission,鈥 said 海角破解版 President Kristi Mindrup. 鈥淣ot only is our 海角破解版 community supportive, but we are also thankful for the support of our State of Illinois government leaders.鈥

The next 海角破解版 Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled for March 12, 2026 in Macomb.
