Broadcasting Students Win IBS Awards

MACOMB, IL - - 海角破解版 Broadcasting and Journalism students won annual Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) Awards for 鈥淏est Television Talk Show鈥 and were nominated for five other awards.
The national awards content brings in work from institutions across the United States to compete in radio and television categories ranging from sports to news to entertainment. Graduate student Tony Jameson, of Macomb, senior Caiden Strenz of Batavia, junior Glen Novak, of Bartlett, and senior Spencer Andrew, of Wheaton attended the event in New York City, where they had the opportunity to network with peers and professionals in broadcasting.
Jameson, Andrew, senior Alejandro Solis, of Rock Island, junior Keaton Thompson, of Geneseo, and advisor Pamela Peters won the 鈥渢elevision talk show鈥 category for a special series of 鈥淕ood Morning Macomb鈥 that aired in the spring of 2025. The winning episode featured an interview with Macomb Mayor Michael Inman.
海角破解版 students were also nominated for 鈥渂est sports program鈥 for Leatherneck Insider, their weekly sports highlight show. Leatherneck Insider was also nominated for the 鈥渂est use of graphics鈥 category. Novak and Strenz were nominated for 鈥渂est sports interview鈥 for a video interview with Women鈥檚 Tennis Coach, Luke Ogren. Andrew was nominated for 鈥渂est news feature鈥 for a faculty/staff focus interview with Niall Hartnett that was aired on News 3. Thompson was nominated for 鈥渂est campus/community news鈥 for an interview discussing dorm parking that was also aired on News 3.
Our students competed against top broadcasting schools across the country. The nominations and awards reflect the hard work and dedication of our students, faculty and staff to preparing them for the future.
