Student Computer Recommendations

The following recommendations are for students聽only. Recommendations for employees can be found under Faculty/Staff Resources.

University Technology recommends the following minimum requirements for student-owned computers brought to campus.聽The uTech Support Center has certified Apple and Dell technicians on staff that can repair or assist with all Dell and Apple general repair needs .

Minimum Computer Recommendations

We recommend that all computers听(laptops/notebooks and desktop computers)聽have聽the following minimum specifications:

    • Microsoft Windows
      • Windows 11
      • Intel Core i5 or higher processor聽
      • 8 GB RAM (higher if possible)
      • 256GB SSD storage
      • Intel/AMD/nVidia video card
      • Gigabit Ethernet network card/adapter
      • Latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox
    • Apple MacOS
      • MacOS 15 or later
      • Apple Silicon M1 or higher
      • 8GB memory (higher if possible)
      • 256GB SSD storage
      • Gigabit Ethernet network card/adapter
      • Latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox
